ok well i did that but i selected a different location for the cache folder so the sisi folder still has all the files in it, how do i reduce it so that it only uses just the sharedcache?

If there are bugs related to this, we're likely to find and fix them quickly. So would I be correct in guessing that the resources are versioned and independent of the client version used (TQ/SISI/etc), and that multiple clients coordinate downloads using file-based locking? Yes. so your saying we should have our sisi shared files folder be the same as the tranquility shared files folder once its out on tq

In the launcher settings you might want to tick 'Download all Resource Files,' restart the launcher, and allow it to update. i let it sit for about 30min and i now see the character selection screen :P
but it looks like this http://i.imgur.com/Xdpwf5F.png
lol my other 2 character dont even show and for some reason it shows the biomass counter above my main o.O
ok i just pressed esc then quit then i clicked play on the launcher again and it loaded correctly that time

Download it before you can start your client. It's no fun to watch downloads two times in a row.
im sure they are still tinkering with it, it probably won't be like that on release

Sometimes i get 100 mb, sometimes even less than 2 mb - I get the impression that the content server is way over its capacity by the number of requests and amout of data to send.... Before on Duality the feature was at least "testable" - as it downloaded the rescache in a few hours (14..5 gb with a 1.6 mb/s connection) - but now Vincent Athena wrote:I assume on the Mac version you cannot have one set of files to be used by all clients? If I have multiple clients, or a TQ and a Sisi client, they each store their own files? The differences make a "sisi-client" incompatible to a TQ-client - at least that is mentioned in the patch-notes While the new system will help you in that matter - if you use multiple TQ-clients, each will install a mere 350 mbytes to your harddisk - but ALL of them will use the same resource-cache ... so the resource-cache is needed only once. A big step forward!
First feedback : the new launcher crashes or hangs about every time I start it - have to use task-manager to close it by killing the process. they also said in like 2 pages back or 1 page back that tq and sisi can use the same shared file folder

Probably you now have a res-cache so you'd need to delete that to get the launcher to question you again about the priming - or you just delete the .stuff-files from the sisi-folder
it didn't ask me if i want to prime it at all even on the first time i launched it, is it because i switched the sharedfiles folder to a different directory? since i have like no space on my c at all

Set a custom location as defined in the post http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/eve-online-news/testing-eve-online-download-on-demand-your-first-steps/SISI client went about extracting the resource cache to this location. However on starting TQ client, I get the same msg about running a pre-alpha version of the launcher, and a 7.44GB download starts. I thought the DoD was only meant to affect the SISI launcher, and now i have to re-download eve all over again? Did i miss something? so while the eve repair tool was downloading the 7.44GB patch, i reopened the TQ launcher and it had a 75MB patch.. this quickly loaded and the game opened. So I canceled the repair tool download.. Now all my game settings are reset. UI, everything. And now, i closed eve to copy my saved UI files back into the user local folder.. restarted client... 7.4GB patch.. Please someone help me restore the client. This is bullsh*t.
if you used the installer u would have to change the registry to make eve see your tranquility folders as tranquility and change your shortcuts on your desktop and every shortcut in the start menu to your tranquility directory, don't forget to change the registry because if u dont then when you go to uninstall it in add/remove programs it will remove sisi but not tranquility :P
ccp needs to rename the test clients or something so they don't overwrite your tranquility installation as far as the shortcuts and registry are concerned in the process

You have to create a manual copy of TQ's folder and make the new folder Sisi's one. So, if done correctly, TQ's installation is never altered, not even in registry. As for the settings, they can be copy-pasted between clients (in AppData\Local\CCP\EVE). You don't have to "re do" anything, except in some rare cases when older settings aren't compatibles with new ones. you do when you use the test server exe installers :P

Just found this... So, looks like you're right. Didn't even know there were installers for test servers... I thought manual installation was the only way to do it, this is why I said what I said above... ^^ yes they are very deadly and need to be changed, so only use them on a different computer where u don't have tq installed on lol
